The Sad Surprise
The Sad Surprise
Matthew 7:21 ~ “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter.
Sometimes our dreams get destroyed. We’ll expect to get an A on a test and fail for an example. To be short it wouldn’t be the first time Life has dropped a sad surprise on me. Especially when you have depression, simple things can be sad surprises. However sad surprises can usually be fixed. Get an F on one test? Then just study more for the next one.
However there’s one Sad Surprise that’s just not only unchangeable but it’s infinite and plain tragic. Yeah, you know what I’m talking about. Now I’m not going to start stating a bunch of rules and say YOU BETTER DO THIS OR YOU’RE GOING TO HE-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS! Nah, its not cool, I’d hate to get lectured like that. So, I’m going to start that I think we’re all guilty of

Understanding Prophecy Introduction
----The Truth
What is the Truth?
According to the dictionary Truth is known as "that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality."
But let's be honest, the truth is something we need, but don't always want to hear.
Say the doctor tells you, you have cancer. It's a terrible truth, but you need to take it into consideration in order to get treatment, to prepare.
Our responsibility? To know the truth and to study it, and as you all know, the truth will set you free.
Sometimes we'll be afraid of the truth, however we shouldn't be. Many people say there is nothing to dear but fear itself. Yeah, sure, the day an asteroid starts hurtling to Earth, whoever said that will be fearing fear... BUT FORGET THEM, I MEAN COME ON ITS A FREAKING ASTEROID.
My point? WE WILL BE SCARED OF IT, we shouldn't, BUT WE WILL, AND THATS OKAY, for as we all know the truth will set us free.
With that said. Let us begin our introduction with Revelations 1:3 which reads. "God blesses the one who reads the word

To Jasmine (I Could Have Told You)
I wish I could have articulated how much God loves you.
I wish I hadn’t been so scared and so shy and so not rooted in the Word that when you called life pointless and you said God hated you and that your so-called Christian parents taught you that, all I could do was listen, nod, try to gently tell you that they were wrong when I should have screamed it.
I should have brought up Bible verses, not as a thumper but a thinker with intentions of help and hope, not just adding another name to the Book of Life, not just a soul in the Kingdom of Heaven, but giving you a new perspective that would make life more optimistic. It is not just the conversion in belief but the change of heart that I should hope for when God is letting me speak His message. But back then I didn’t even know verses well enough to cite one. I could say that God loved you but I didn’t tell you how or why and I mentioned the cross but maybe I didn’t talk about it enough. Maybe I was speaking too m

A True Christian . . . .
A True Christian does not calls Christianity a religion, but a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. (John 15:14-15, Hebrews 13:5, John 10:27-28, Proverbs 17:17, Job 5:19, Psalm 37:39)
A True Christian does not do good deeds so that he/she can get to heaven (for through Jesus Christ, he has a place in heaven), but so that you can take care of you fellow man and to love one another. (Romans 3:9-31, John 15:17, Luke 10:25-37, Ephesians 2:8-10)
A True Christian does not condemn others for their sins for God did not sent his son to the world to condemn it, but to save it through him. (John 3:17, Luke 6:37, 1 Peter 2:22)
A True Christian sings, dances, and praises God not so that he/she can impress other people or God, but because he/she loves God and his son. (Matthew 22:37-39)
A True Christian speaks for those who can't speak for themselves. (Proverbs 31:8-9)
A True Christian does not hate people, but sins.  For those

Hello Wise Gem here
I figured that recording sermons would be a lot more convenient than typing them. Unfortunately I don't have a very good editing program so you will hear me stutter, some moments of silence, and me putting my nose where it doesn't belong *COUGHPOLITICSCOUGH* But those pieces are my opinion and everyone is subject to their own. Feel free to share your thoughts. Critiques are welcome, arguments also welcome, differing opinions and fine, plain insults though.. please keep those to yourself.

Also as I've said before I'm Methodist, so I don't want my opinions to be taken as an average Christian's viewpoint. Each Christian has their own interpretation and again that's okay. ^^

So, I’m going to start that I think we’re all guilty of what I’m about to say to some degree. Yes, We, including myself. This is an issue that I need to fix and I figured why not write about it and share it.
So the tragic surprise? When people assume that they’re going to heaven, then they get there… and that isn’t what happens. The sad thing is once you leave here and go to your final destination nothing can change that, no amount of money or prayer from your loved ones can change that… sadly.
So with that said, GEM, what are you on about. I’m totally religious!
That’s the thing, there’s a difference between being religious and being Christian. Religious is following rules. Which yeah, that’s a big part of Christianity, but you can’t just say, “I went to church last week and I didn’t steal or murder or lie.” Cause that doesn’t mean you’re Christian, it just means you’re a good person. Christianity is much more than that, as I’ve said before Christianity is about having a relationship with God. It’s about actually meaning it when you repent, asking God for help if you need help with a certain sin. It’s a way of life! So how is this relevant?
Many people just use Christianity as another label. I’m talking about the kind of people that say they’re Christian and what they really mean is I go to church on Sunday. That’s pretty much it. They don’t really read the bible so they figure, well I’m giving, I’m going to church (which is great!) so I’m going to heaven. Unfortunately that isn’t how it works.
True Christians are those who repent and mean it, those who fear the Lord, those who know him. Know him? Yes know him! Those who pray and pour out their emotions out, actually believing that they are being listened to, and read the bible and know he’s there, Those who put it in practice and those who have a relationship with him, or at least try. It isn’t easy, but if you just try it’ll begin to come naturally.
So? What am I trying to say? Observe yourself. Don’t just assume you’re going to heaven, make sure of it! Don’t lie to yourself,  Take what’s yours, That special place up there just for you. Make sure you aren’t just being religious but that you actually know who God is. Need help? Just ask him. Have some questions? I’m here to help. Need a prayer? I’m here for that too. However don’t go with the crowd, don’t just be another religious person that will be met with a sad surprise…
